Why has communal tension in India always been on the rise since independence?
Mainly because there has never been an effort to bridge the gap.
The entity most suitable to do this was the ‘seculars’. Had they made sincere effort to bring people of all religions on the table, made efforts so every party’s problems and concerns were heard and addressed, perhaps the situation could be different. But this was never attempted or considered important. They instead resorted to the path of siding with minority religions which meant a bias against hinduism.
As a result millions of peace loving hindus have always felt that ‘seculars’ are in fact biased against them.
Maybe this bias itself has been the reason why resolution by bringing all parties to the table was never attempted.
